![]() ![]() ![]() I am amazed that people will still be using LastPass after two breaches and now word that vaults were also part of the breach? Yep. Just my two cents.ĭo I still recommend 1Password over the rest? Yep. I do think that passkeys look promising, but I think that adoption of that technology is a long way away. But, I must confess that I've switched back to v7 several times over fears of having everything (my own data and my client's data) stored in a vault on a server that 1Password controls using closed source software that I must simply trust to be secure. I think they are probably the best in the business. Do I think 1Password is built better than LastPass? Yes. if even just to say they were able to breach a major password manager. True, but boy does having everything on one server become quite the temptation to hackers. The response will always be the same though. Having recently switched to their v.8 plan that requires me to host all my data on their servers, it's just a matter of time before something like this happens at Agilebits. Again, the Secret Key is a large part of that. If we do our jobs correctly, it won't end up being your problem if/when it happens. We never want to go through something like a data breach, but it's important that we plan for it anyway. We never advertise 1Password by saying that it is. We can't leak your address or your phone number if we don't have them.
